Caesar Salad & Flat Iron Steak
Caesar Salad with Flat Iron Steak is a healthy meal option that is SUPER simple!!!!
For the salad, I used the Ultimate Caesar Salad kit from Dole, and I diced up a little tomato to throw on the salad. The salad kit is perfectly proportioned for two dinner-sized salads. It comes with caesar spice, caesar dressing, croutons, and shredded parmesan cheese. Yes, croutons. Just skip the dinner roll and enjoy some croutons!! Also, keep in mind that you don't have to use the whole packet of salad dressing. If you like a lot of dressing on your salads, here's a good hack to cut calories - - take half of the dressing from the packet and mix it with a little water. You still get the flavor of the dressing, and you trick yourself into believing there is a good bit of dressing on the salad.
For the flat iron steak - - I cooked it in the air fryer!! If you haven't tried steak in the air fryer yet, you are missing out. Here's how I did it.....
1. I started by getting the steak to room temperature and sat it out on the counter for about 15 minutes (an important step for ensuring it cooks evenly and turns out tender).
2. Preheat your air fryer to 400. While it is preheating, rub the steak with a little olive oil and season it with salt and pepper.
3. Set the steak in the air fryer for 6 minutes, then flip and air fry for another 6 minutes. Let your steak rest about five minutes after removing from the air fryer.
To plate the salad, I started with the lettuce, then I added the diced tomatoes. I sprinkled with the caesar spice. Then I thinly sliced the steak and placed it on the salad. I topped with the dressing, croutons, and shredded parmesan.
It is absolutely delicious, and it is husband approved. 🤣
